Learn French Canada just won the Palme Bleue, the most prestigious award for francophone businesses in Greater Vancouver. On May 28, 2026, our team accepted the Palme Bleue: Entreprise en Croissance (Growing Business) award at the annual Gala de la Palme Bleue, organized by the Chambre de Commerce Francophone de Vancouver (CCF Vancouver). Out of all the francophone businesses in Greater Vancouver, the CCF recognized Learn French Canada for having the most impactful growth.

A French language school winning a francophone business growth award is a pretty powerful statement. It means the community that lives and breathes French every day looked at what we’ve built and said: “This is the one.”

What Is the Palme Bleue Award?

The Palme Bleue is the flagship award of the Chambre de Commerce Francophone de Vancouver, British Columbia’s leading francophone business organization. Since 2013, the annual Gala de la Palme Bleue has brought together the province’s entire francophone and francophile business community to celebrate excellence, innovation, and entrepreneurial impact.

The 2026 gala, held at the historic Vancouver Rowing Club in Stanley Park, was especially significant: it marked the CCF Vancouver’s 40th anniversary. Three awards were presented this year, each recognizing businesses at different stages of development:

Award CategoryWhat It Recognizes2026 Winner
Entreprise en Croissance (Growing Business)Clear, structured, impactful recent growthLearn French Canada
Entreprise Émergente (Emerging Business)Strong potential, clear vision, early tractionChez Nous
Personnalité de l’Année (Personality of the Year)Individual leadership and community impactSavita (Savi) Ramkirit

Congratulations to our fellow 2026 winners: Chez Nous took home the Entreprise Émergente (Emerging Business) award, and Savita (Savi) Ramkirit was named Personnalité de l’Année (Personality of the Year).

The keynote speaker for 2026 was Dominique Brown, President of Chocolats Favoris, a company he grew from a small Quebec chocolate shop to one of Canada’s leading brands with over 1,500 employees. An inspiring reminder that francophone businesses can achieve remarkable things in this country.

Why Did Learn French Canada Win the Palme Bleue?

The Entreprise en Croissance category recognizes a francophone business whose recent growth is “clear, structured, and impactful.” When we look back at the past few years, the trajectory speaks for itself.

What most people don’t realize is that this growth happened organically. No venture capital, no franchise model. Just a team that cares deeply about helping people learn French, and students who keep telling their friends about us.

One of our students, reviewing their experience on Google, put it perfectly:

“I went from zero French to passing my TEF with CLB 7+ in 10 months. The teachers are amazing. They’re all native speakers and they genuinely care about your progress. This school changed my life and my immigration path.”

That’s why we won. A business plan didn’t do it. Stories like this one, multiplied by thousands, did.

How Did Learn French Canada Grow So Fast?

The honest answer? We solved a real problem that nobody else was solving well.

Thousands of people across Canada need French for Express Entry immigration points, provincial nominee programs, and Canadian citizenship. They need to pass the TEF or TCF exam with specific CLB scores, and most of them are starting from zero or near-zero French. The options available to them were either university courses (too slow, too academic) or apps like Duolingo (not enough for an exam).

We built something different. Here’s what makes Learn French Canada stand out:

Programs Designed for Canadian Immigration

Every program we offer is built around one goal: helping you pass your TEF or TCF exam and get the CLB score you need. Our flagship French Transformation program takes complete beginners from zero to exam-ready in 6 to 12 months, with structured levels, regular assessments, and mock exams built right in.

For students who already have intermediate French, our TEF Prep program focuses specifically on exam strategy and techniques: the difference between knowing French and scoring well on the test.

‍ Native French Teachers Who Understand the Exam

All 14 of our teachers are native French speakers from France and Quebec. They teach French, and they know exactly what TEF and TCF examiners are looking for. That expertise shapes exactly how we prepare students for exam day.

Available Everywhere in Canada

What started as a single classroom in Vancouver now serves students in 10+ cities, including Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and more. In-person classes are available in Vancouver and Calgary, with fully online programs accessible from anywhere in the country.

The Team Behind the Palme Bleue Award

Léa Granado, Aurélie Halimi, and Tasnia Anika represented Learn French Canada at the gala. But this award belongs to the entire team: our 14 native French teachers, our operations staff, and most importantly, our 4,500+ students who trusted us with their French learning goals.

Without our students’ dedication and our teachers’ expertise, there would be no growth story to tell. Every single class taught, every exam passed, every permanent residency application approved with French points: that’s the real story behind this award.

From Vancouver to All of Canada: Our Growth Story

Learn French Canada started as Learn French in Vancouver back in 2017. For the first several years, the focus was entirely on Vancouver: building a reputation, refining the methodology, and helping thousands of students prepare for their TEF and TCF exams.

Then something happened. Students from Calgary started asking for classes. Then Toronto. Then Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg. The demand was undeniable.

In 2025, we launched learnfrenchcanada.com as our national platform, expanding to serve students in 10+ cities across the country. We opened in-person hybrid classes in Calgary at Workhaus, grew our teaching team to 14 native French speakers, and built programs specifically designed for Canadian permanent residency success.

Today, Learn French Canada serves students from coast to coast:

  • Vancouver: In-person + online, our original home and headquarters
  • Calgary: Hybrid model (Levels 1-3 in-person at Workhaus, Levels 4+ online)
  • Toronto, Edmonton : Fully online programs
  • Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Hamilton, Halifax: Online with dedicated city support

That’s the growth the CCF Vancouver recognized. The numbers grew, and so did our reach. More people, in more places across the country, now get help learning French.

What Does the Palme Bleue Mean for Our Students?

An award from the Chambre de Commerce Francophone de Vancouver, one of the most respected francophone business organizations in British Columbia, is external validation that our approach works. But what does it actually mean if you’re considering learning French with us?

Independent Recognition of Quality

This isn’t a self-proclaimed title or a paid badge. The CCF Vancouver evaluated real growth metrics, business impact, and community contribution through a formal application and judging process. When a francophone institution tells you a French school is growing fast, and doing it right, that carries serious weight.

Proven Results You Can Trust

Growth doesn’t happen without results. Our 300+ five-star reviews across Canada aren’t manufactured. They’re from real students who passed their exams and achieved their immigration goals. Combined with our exam-specific preparation approach, the Palme Bleue simply confirms what our students have been saying all along.

If you’re preparing for the TEF or TCF exam, you want a school with a track record, not just a promise. This award is part of that track record.

Continuous Investment in Better Programs

Growth means resources. More students means we can hire more native French teachers, offer more class times, build better curriculum, and expand to more cities. The Palme Bleue is fuel for doing even more of what’s already working, so every student gets a better experience.

About the Chambre de Commerce Francophone de Vancouver

The CCF Vancouver has been championing francophone businesses in British Columbia for 40 years. As the leading francophone business organization in Greater Vancouver, the CCF connects entrepreneurs, promotes economic development, and celebrates the contributions of the French-speaking community to Canada’s economy.

Being recognized by the CCF during their 40th anniversary year makes this award even more meaningful. The Chamber evaluates real impact, real growth, and real contribution to the francophone community before it hands out any trophy.

Merci à la Chambre de Commerce Francophone de Vancouver for this incredible honor. We’re proud to represent the francophone business community, and even prouder to help thousands of Canadians join it by learning French.

What’s Next for Learn French Canada?

This award is fuel for what we’re building next. Here’s what’s coming:

  • More cities, more access: Continuing to expand across Canada so nobody has to learn French alone, no matter where they live
  • Better exam preparation: Building even more specialized prep for TEF, TCF, and SLE exams at every CLB level
  • More in-person options: After the success of our Calgary hybrid model, we’re exploring in-person offerings in more cities
  • Community impact: Helping more immigration candidates achieve their Canadian dream through French, one student, one exam, one PR application at a time

We didn’t start Learn French Canada to win awards. We started it because thousands of people across Canada need French to build their future here, and they deserve a school that actually gets them there.

The Palme Bleue tells us we’re on the right track. And we’re just getting started.
