A provincial pathway, a community that already speaks it, and a set of jobs that stay closed without it.
MPNP
Manitoba nominates French speakers
The Provincial Nominee Program runs recruitment streams that give French-speaking applicants priority and extra points, on top of what French already adds to your federal score. A provincial nomination is worth 600 CRS points, which in practice decides the draw. Manitoba is one of the provinces actively using French to fill them.
St. Boniface
The community is already here
Winnipeg holds one of the largest French-speaking communities in Canada outside Quebec, centred on St. Boniface with its own schools, hospital, university and daily life in French. Learning the language here connects you to a neighbourhood, not only to a test score.
